Obviously, you saw my top 10 list, so you know which team I'm on. It's really interesting that these two are paired up in round 1. I can assure you, however, that I am not a Baba, and you probably aren't either. In the interest of consistency, I'll vote for Baba Is You, even though I don't know what that is. I literally wrote an article back in 2013 with the headline, “ GTA V - A Danger to the Industry” (something about production costs), and the gaming industry has forever changed afterwards. Speaking of animosity, here's Undertale! I hear Octopath Traveler is actually a good game and can win on its own merits without me hating Undertale, but after what the Undertale fanbase did in 2015 to win the GameFAQs Best. That said, I have more animosity towards Minecraft. I also really don't like Minecraft or the dumb kids who play it (or its younger cousin, ROBLOX). I really don't like multiplayer online battle arenas. “ Awakening truly propels the Fire Emblem franchise in an outstanding mainstream A-list direction out of its niche shadows.” It was “niche” before, but it was also actually GOOD. Allowing the other KoopaTV staff members to give Fire Emblem: Awakening KoopaTV's GOTY 2013 award is the worst decision I've ever made with KoopaTV. However, I also blame it for nearly making the Fire Emblem franchise completely unrecognisable from its preceding Tellius glory, and I absolutely loathe Chrom. It's one of the games I've played on the list, and I did go to the end. Normally, I should vote for Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Neither were the award categories it won. Wikipedia says it won multiple awards at The Game Awards 2016, which we unfortunately covered, but if you ctrl + f the log, INSIDE isn't mentioned once. I think this match was purposefully done just to put two ALL-CAPS games against each other. (3) Pokemon HeartGold / SoulSilver Versionįortnite would be a bottom five game for me in this bracket, so I'd vote for anything over it. (5) Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn (10) Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (8) The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (15) The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC (2) Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

(11) Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (1) The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Oh, I set up a table of contents, because navigation might help: Quite frankly, some of these games I've just never heard of, so I don't have much of anything interesting to say. Sometimes I write why I would vote the way I would. Instead, you get a super-long article where I go through round-by-round as if I'm the only voter, and what the contest would look like in that case. In previous years’ contests (check them out at the bottom of this article's footer), I dedicated an article for each contest's round, but the way this bracket is constructed that's just going to be very repetitive and boring. The polls are up each day on the GameFAQs home page.

Feel free to vote for whatever you want, as long as it's not a game I loathe. In the interest of not subjecting you to repeated instances of me pretending to have played games so I look cultured, for this year's GameFAQs contest I'm not going to follow it round-by-round on KoopaTV. Only four of those games made it into the top 128, and it turns out that I've only played 19 of that top 128. I didn't expect that I'd be so heavy on the DS and 3DS, though.
